ON TARGET: PROUD SPONSOR OF 2nd ANNUAL RALLY FOR FIRST RESPONDERS
On Target Investigation & Consulting, LLC was proud to be one of the sponsors of the 2nd Annual Rally for First Responders, which occurred on May 21, 2023 at Hudson Fields in Sussex Co., DE. It was a wonderful event, which was blessed by good weather (on the rain date), wonderful people, a great variety of food trucks, great beer, excellent musical talent, many displays of fire, police, & EMS equipment, and a wide selection of interesting vendors. This was a great way for the community to show its support of the first responders serving on the front line of public safety and emergency services.
Selected highlights of my visit included:
DSP Helicopter display:
It was nice to see this well-equipped aviation asset up close and to chat with the pilot about its capabilities.
DSP EOD display:
The State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal team had its advanced equipment on display that it uses for dealing with various types of explosive threats. All I can say is, if you see these guys running away from an incident, you had better keep up! 😊
K-9 Demo:
Various agencies participated in demonstrating the capabilities of their furry partners. The handlers provided an interesting and informative presentation, which was appreciated by the audience. The extensive training of these K-9 teams was quite evident in the disciplined responses of these four-legged law enforcers.
C.O.P.S. Display:
C.O.P.S. stands for Concerns Of Police Survivors. I was a young police officer when this organization was formed in 1984. It is a national organization with local chapters in most states. They provide support to family members who have experienced the loss of an LEO relative in the line of duty. The organization is also heavily involved in the annual National Police Week events in Washington, D.C.
Their simple display was very impressive and meaningful. There was a banner which listed the names/dates of all of the fallen Delaware law enforcement officers. This is a powerful expression of the sacrifices which have been made on behalf of society. I had a chance to chat with two ladies there, both who are surviving relatives of officers who made the supreme sacrifice. We should all be grateful for such selfless actions of service and protection!
Proud to recognize & support our First Responders!
