SERVICE SPOTLIGHT: Preparation for police employment
Police Employment Opportunities:
Are you seeking a rewarding career in a police department? Many aspiring police candidates find themselves in a revolving process of applying for police positions and being rejected. Would you like to gain an edge over other potential applicants for police positions?
One of the unique services offered by On Target Investigation & Consulting, LLC is law enforcement career coaching. Law enforcement agencies at all levels have a critical need to recruit quality personnel for entry-level positions. Competition for a limited number of positions is keen. The better prepared you are, the better chance you have of rising to the top of the selection process and landing a position in law enforcement.
What can an independent consultant do for you?
On Target Investigation & Consulting, LLC will work with potential police candidates in order to assist them in preparing to ‘put their best foot forward’ in their police employment-seeking efforts. While we will endeavor to help them improve their efforts, we cannot make any guarantees that they will be successful in gaining appointment to a law enforcement position. Some aspects of a person’s life will preclude their employment in this field, such as certain types of criminal records. In such cases, we will be forthright with the client and advise them they may want to consider other career choices. We don’t want to waste our client’s time or money.
What are some of the specific aspects of the police hiring process we can assist you with? Familiarization with the overall police candidate selection process, client assessment for basic qualifications for police employment, resume development & refinement, mock written testing & testing strategies, mock interviews & interview strategies, strategies to improve marketability, information regarding police position openings, and physical fitness preparation. We can work on all aspects of the process or just focus on certain areas where the client desires to improve.
We have practical experience to share in this area. The principal consultant successfully obtained a municipal police position, which he maintained for 33 years before retiring as a Lieutenant. As a police supervisor, he participated in numerous police candidate interview boards. As a police administrator, he was responsible for overseeing the hiring process for a medium-sized police agency.
If you have “the right stuff” to offer a professional police agency, we would be happy to help you put forth your best effort and obtain a rewarding career in law enforcement.
